Our Story

The restaurant started service out of two shop fronts on Pavilion Road in 1974. In 1985 it was extended further allowing for a bar and generous waiting area giving the perfect space for pre and after dinner drinks.

Sale e Pepe has survived the test of time due to its loyal clientele and patrons from overseas. Whether you are a first time diner or a familiar face, guests are greeted with a warm welcome from the friendly staff, who haven’t changed much over the years.

Toni has been managing Sale e Pepe for over 35 years. He has made it a priority since day one to personally welcome all who enter Sale e Pepe. Toni knows everyone and everyone knows Toni. The very professional kitchen and waiting staff have been working alongside him for many years creating a consistent service and memorable atmosphere.

"There's always a good night out to be had at this very busy veteran Knightsbridge trattoria; Amusing waiters deliver food that's ever-reliable in a buzzing setting."

"From the moment customers enter to be greeted by long-serving maitre d' Toni with a snatch of an operatic aria, they feel as much at home in Sale e Pepe as on holiday in Chiantishire."

"This was our fourth time at the restaurant and we were greeted like friends. The service was prompt and professional..the food as always superb and well presented. This is a special restaurant.."
